You may have heard your child talk about the part part whole method when talking about numbers, addition or numbers pairs. We use it as a way to show that numbers can be split into parts. It’s a good way to model how relationships between numbers work.
We made these videos during lockdown so please ignore the first part of the video where you’re required to get certain resources together however the concept is the same as what we have focused on recently in our maths learning. Please watch and enjoy with your child. You may even wish to find bowls or plates that you can use at home to play with the part part whole method.
