Wildflower Welly Walk

We had a fantastic morning on Tuesday, learning more about wildflowers and how they grow in nature. Trips are planned to enhance our learning in class- this session followed on from last week’s science investigation into flowers and provided a concrete experience for the children to connect directly with our science curriculum. Our guided walk was led by an expert called Miles, from the charity People Need Nature. We walked to Poundbury Hillfort to collect buttercup seeds which we scattered onto the Great Field on our way back to school. We were lucky to spot a Red kite flying above us! It was a joy to observe the children engaged and excited in this task.
