Would your child like to join the Skipper 1 Parkrun? If so, Mrs Lewis will be at Junior Parkrun on The Great Field, Poundbury on Sunday 14th July at 8.45am and would love for your child to join her!
Our weekly 2k run/ walks have been a weekly highlight for Skipper 1 this year. Some children already attend the Junior Parkrun on The Great Field, Poundbury (start line is on the field opposite the pharmacy). This is a free event that takes place every Sunday at 9am. It encourages children to get active and achieve their best. It is not a race– everyone walks/ runs at their pace. Adults can either run with their child or encourage them from the sidelines. There are plenty of marshals that line the route and encourage the children to keep going.
Every registered child gets a barcode that is scanned as they cross the finish line. This records your child’s time. Whilst registration is not mandatory, it is a great way to record progress.
It would be wonderful to see your child there, (siblings from Damers also welcome!)
