We have made it through our first term as Skipper 1!
The highlights of our week include festive baking (our class treat for reaching the top of the Lego brick tower), festive decorations, and a visit from Father Christmas. Father Christmas gave the class a gift of a play shop- which will be perfect for developing literacy and maths skills through play next term.
We recorded Stickman on Monday- you will receive a link to view it at home with your child, shortly.
As you can see, many children were inspired by our maths investigation into pattern this week, choosing a pattern for their paper chain. We also enjoyed cooking together this week. Each group was responsible for weighing, adding or mixing/ kneading the ingredients, before every child rolled, cut and decorated two cookies- to support gross and fine motor skills.
Christmas Reading Challenge– please encourage your child to take part in our festive reading challenge, details below.
Skipper 1 teaching team would like to wish you all a wonderful festive break. Thank you for your continued support. Thank you also for the generous and thoughtful gifts Skipper 1 families gave to Mrs Dursley and I. We look forward to welcoming the children back on Tuesday 2nd January.
